Bursary 2015
This years Bursary has been awarded to Alison Whiting
Each year NLM award a bursary of £100 and this year I was the lucky recipient. Off I went to the York lace course and I spent a very happy week learning Milanese braids amongst my extended lace family. I chose to make my lace in colour. I felt the braids would fit nicely into a church window as you can see from the picture. I had to look no further than my own church for the window I needed.
I shall spend my bursary on a Milanese braid book to add to my collection and I am having a paper cutting lesson so I can cut my window out well. Before the end of my bursary year I hope to have tried a Milanese braid in wire and also some thicker thread to see the different results. The braids are fascinating to work and I wonder at the results.
Thank you Norfolk lace makers .
