Great Hockham Primary School Lace Club

Irene French, Leslie Sercombe and Anne Stimson run an after school lace club at the Great Hockham Primary School. The club started in September 2012 now in its second year.

The pupils range in age from 6 years to 10 years. We have had up to twenty children making lace throughout the year.

We have found an alternative venue for the girls who left this school in September, so they may carry on making lace. Claire Stimson, Anne's daughter, who lives in Hockham has allowed us to use her lounge.

Many thanks to the lacemakers who have donated pillows and bobbins, this has allowed us to accommodate all the children that wanted to learn.

With the aid of a computer the children have manipulated images of their lace work. We hope to exhibit these images with the lace sometime in the future.

The school have recently been visited by Ofsted, who were very impressed with the lace club. We have been invited to run a workshop this term during a school lesson.
